Helmsman’s Basil Lee Speaks on Future of Global Disputes at SIAC Annual China Conference 2026
Associate Director, Basil Lee, recently spoke as a panelist at the SIAC Annual China Conference 2026 in Shenzhen, China. He joined the session titled “Powering the Future: Advanced Industries, Emerging Markets, and New Frontiers in Global Dispute Resolution”, which explored how China’s advanced industries and the continued rise of emerging markets are reshaping the global disputes landscape.
The panel considered the challenges and opportunities arising from Chinese companies’ technological innovation and international expansion and examined how shifting economic and geopolitical conditions are influencing cross-border disputes. The discussion also highlighted how parties, counsel and arbitral institutions are adapting their strategies and frameworks to navigate increasingly complex economic environments, and how international arbitration can continue to provide effective, efficient and trusted solutions in a fast-changing world.
Basil spoke alongside a distinguished line-up of co-panellists from SIAC, private practice and in-house counsel. His participation highlights our firm’s ongoing commitment to international arbitration and to supporting clients as they manage complex, cross-border disputes in China and the wider Asia region.
