Kah Chon specialises in corporate and commercial transactions, with particular emphasis on mergers and acquisitions. He advises clients on share and asset acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate restructurings, private equity investments and general corporate matters.

His transactional experience includes acting for the shareholders of a Singapore engineering and project management business on its sale to an international technical-services group in a transaction valued at up to approximately SGD 45 million, and for an international energy and engineering group on its approximately SGD 50 million acquisition of a Singapore engineering company. He has also acted as Singapore counsel to an international healthcare group on the reorganisation of its Singapore corporate structure, involving a capital restructuring and statutory amalgamation of group entities.

Kah Chon has acted for multinational corporations, government institutions, established businesses and start-ups across sectors including construction and engineering, food and beverage, technology, healthcare, biotechnology, financial services and renewable energy.

Prior to joining Helmsman, Kah Chon practised at a Singapore-headquartered law firm with an established regional presence across Asia, where he was involved in domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate governance matters and commercial collaborations involving private-sector and government-linked entities. 

Kah Chon read law at the Singapore Management University. He is an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore, and a member of the Law Society of Singapore and the Singapore Academy of Law.
