Daniel Ho

Daniel is a specialist regulatory and disputes lawyer with experience in commercial litigation, international arbitration, regulatory and compliance advisory, and artificial intelligence governance. He regularly acts in complex cross-border disputes involving banking, commodities and shareholder matters, and advises on a broad range of compliance and risk management issues, including anti-money laundering, sanctions, anti-corruption, and AI governance. 

Upon completing his law degree, Daniel was appointed a Justices’ Law Clerk of the Supreme Court of Singapore where he handled a broad variety of complex civil disputes and criminal matters. Prior to joining Helmsman, Daniel practiced at a “Magic Circle” law firm. 

Daniel read law at the Singapore Management University, graduating with a Summa Cum Laude (with the Highest Distinction). He was on the Dean’s List for all academic years and was awarded the Kwa Geok Choo Top Law Student Award, Amarjeet Singh SC Law Prize for Public International Law, and David Marshall Prize for Top Student in Criminal Law. Daniel was also awarded the Kwa Geok Choo Law Undergraduate Scholarship. 

Daniel regularly volunteers at the Bukit Batok SMC Legal Clinic, and coaches moot teams at the Singapore Management University. More recently, Daniel won a community hackathon using artificial intelligence tools.
