Jerry Zhang

Jerry (Tongzhou) Zhang is a Senior Legal Executive at Helmsman LLC specialising in dispute resolution. He assists counsel across a broad range of disputes, including contractual and shareholder disputes, maritime and shipping matters, insolvency-related issues, employment claims, and cross-border enforcement.

Jerry obtained his Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree from the National University of Singapore, where he was awarded an academic scholarship. Prior to this, he graduated in the top 5% of his class from the China University of Political Science and Law, receiving multiple academic scholarships and the "Outstanding Graduate" distinction. He has also participated in legal research projects organized by the University of London and the National University of Singapore, with related papers published.

Before joining Helmsman, Jerry worked at the Financial Adjudication Division of an Intermediate People’s Court in China. He subsequently practiced in a Chambers-ranked team at a leading Chinese law firm, involving himself in international arbitration, export controls, and various financial disputes. Later, he underwent training at a major international law firm in Singapore, where he handled matters related to maritime law and the enforcement of cross-border judgments. These experiences enable him to effectively balance the legal and commercial considerations faced by clients.

Jerry is a native Mandarin speaker with professional bilingual capabilities and possesses a deep understanding of the Chinese legal system and business culture.
