Tiffany Handjaja

Tiffany specialises in shipping and commodity disputes, leveraging her experience as an associate in the maritime and trade department of a recognised Singapore law firm. Her experience includes charterparty disputes, disputes arising out of shipbuilding and ship repair contracts, misdelivery cases, and disputes arising out of commodity sale and purchase contracts.  She has represented clients before the Singapore Courts, and in arbitrations under the SCMA and SIAC Rules.

She is an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore.

Tiffany read law at the National University of Singapore. She is fluent in English and Mandarin.

Acted for Chinese-owned buyers on claims from, and counterclaims against Chinese-owned sellers of approximately USD 70 million, for breaches of a sale and purchase contract for oil products and for outstanding and/or overpaid demurrage.

Acting for a commodities trading company on claims arising out of and/or in connection with a sale and purchase contract of approximately USD 60 million.

Acted for shipowner defendants in claims for misdelivery of up to USD 13 million.

Acted for container carriers in respect of cargo damage claims and achieved favourable settlement for clients.
