Helmsman Strengthens Its Junior and Mid-Level Ranks with Five New Hires

Helmsman is strengthening its junior and mid-level ranks with the appointments of Asher Chin, Zhang Yong, Jonathan Wong, Beatrice Low and Jerry Zhang. The five new joiners add depth to the firm’s dispute resolution, corporate and commercial capabilities, further enhancing Helmsman’s offering to clients in Singapore, Hong Kong and across the globe. 

 

Asher Chin — Counsel. Handles high‑stakes international commercial litigation, arbitration, investigations, and regulatory matters for clients in the technology, financial services, construction and energy sectors.

Zhang Yong — Senior Associate. Dispute resolution specialist with extensive experience in contractual, shareholder, joint venture, and investment disputes. He has appeared before international arbitral tribunals under leading arbitration institutions and before PRC courts at all levels, acting for clients across the finance, real estate, shipping, construction, technology, and commodities sectors.

Jonathan Wong — Associate. Focuses on commercial dispute resolution and employment matters, acting in complex domestic and cross‑border litigation and arbitration, including fraud and asset recovery, shareholder and insolvency disputes. 

Beatrice Low — Associate. Corporate and commercial lawyer advising on M&A, joint ventures, private equity investments and restructurings for multinational and listed companies, financial institutions, private equity firms and start‑ups across a wide range of industries. 

Jerry Zhang — Senior Legal Executive. Supports counsel on contractual and shareholder disputes, maritime and shipping matters, insolvency issues, employment claims and cross‑border enforcement,
